JOB DESCRIPTION

Provides functional and integration leadership for all Third-Party Logistics (3PL) integrations between legacy WMS / 3PL providers and SAP S/4HANA (IM and OTC), ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled exchange of inventory and transactional data in a dual-system coexistence landscape. The 3PL Integration Lead owns the end-to-end integration design, coordination, validation, and readiness activities for 3PL sites, acting as the primary point of accountability across business, IT, middleware, and external partners, while ensuring alignment to Stage Gate milestones, cutover readiness, and post–go-live stability.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the functional design and coordination of 3PL integrations between legacy WMS / 3PL systems and SAP S/4HANA for inventory and logistics-related transactions (GR/GI, inventory movements, PO/STO confirmations; excluding SO and delivery execution where out of scope).
  • Define and document the end-to-end 3PL integration approach, including message scope, data ownership, system-of-record rules, and coexistence controls for non-EWM sites.
  • Serve as the primary functional integration liaison between Compass, Reynolds IT, middleware teams, OTC owners, and 3PL providers.
  • Drive Knowledge Deep Dive (KDD) sessions related to 3PL integration, including data flows, exception handling, reconciliation concepts, and cutover sequencing.
  • Partner with Reynolds IT / Integration teams (who perform development) to provide functional specifications, mapping guidance, and validation criteria for all 3PL interfaces.
  • Define integration-related assumptions, risks, and dependencies and ensure they are logged, tracked, and mitigated through the RAID process.
  • Coordinate 3PL-specific testing activities across FUT, SIT, and UAT, including scenario definition, data setup requirements, and defect triage.
  • Support data migration and cutover planning for 3PL sites, including initial inventory load approach, transaction freeze coordination, and go-live sequencing.
  • Ensure reconciliation and control procedures are defined for inventory and transaction confirmation between 3PL systems and S/4HANA.
  • Support go-live readiness and hypercare stabilization for 3PL integrations, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and transition to steady-state support.

Key Artifacts / Deliverables

  • 3PL Integration Strategy & Scope Definition (in-scope / out-of-scope transactions).
  • 3PL Integration Architecture Overview (logical, non-MFS, non-execution).
  • Functional Integration Design Documents / Functional Specs for 3PL interfaces (owned by Compass; development by Reynolds IT).
  • Message & Data Mapping Definitions (inventory movements, PO/STO confirmations, status updates).
  • System-of-Record & Coexistence Rules for 3PL Sites.
  • 3PL Integration KDD Materials (agenda, deck, assumptions, outcomes).
  • Integration Risk & Dependency Register (3PL-specific).
  • 3PL Testing Scenario Catalogue (FUT / SIT / UAT).
  • Cutover Integration Plan for 3PL Sites:
    • Transaction freeze timing
    • Initial inventory load sequencing
    • Post-cutover validation steps
  • 3PL Go-Live Readiness & Validation Checklist.
  • Hypercare Integration Support Playbook (triage model, escalation paths).

Ongoing Responsibilities (Recurring Outputs)

  • Participate in weekly project status and integration working sessions, providing updates on 3PL integration progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Maintain and update 3PL integration design documentation, assumptions, and open items as the project progresses.
  • Coordinate with Reynolds IT / middleware teams to track development progress, test readiness, and defect resolution.
  • Support ongoing reconciliation reviews during testing and early hypercare to ensure inventory and transaction accuracy.
  • Provide integration expertise during cutover execution, validation, and go/no-go decision-making.
  • Support knowledge transfer and handoff of 3PL integration processes to Reynolds Production Support at project closure.

This person will be supported by the overall PM for key status reports and SG activities and overall plan folded into the entire project plan for Compass.

This person will also need to support any input for interim State training requirements with the CM / Training resources for Compass.
