We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Solutions Architect & Technical Manager to lead enterprise-scale ServiceNow architecture, drive platform modernization, and provide hands-on technical leadership for complex federal implementations. This role is ideal for a senior architect who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, partnering with government stakeholders, guiding development teams, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI and automation to transform enterprise service delivery. The successful candidate will bring deep ServiceNow platform expertise, proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, and a strong understanding of federal IT environments, while working on-site five days a week in Baltimore, MD, in support of mission-critical programs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the ServiceNow Architecture development, enhancements, and implementations.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders in utilizing ServiceNow for managing enterprise services and enhancements using new technologies (i.e., AI and automation).
  • Build roadmaps, provide recommendations, and lead the development and adoption of new technologies and services to enhance and fully leverage ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Provide assistance to development teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders and Clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring alignment between ServiceNow capabilities and business requirements.
  • Ensure technical deliverables are complete, consistent, high-quality, on time, and deliver valued outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, including platform governance, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with developers and system administrators to deliver scalable and reliable ServiceNow configurations and customizations.
  • Lead efforts to optimize the performance and functionality of ServiceNow through monitoring, maintenance, and tuning.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex ServiceNow implementations, including data migration, workflow automation, and portal development. 
  • Design and implement solutions following established Configuration Management policies and standards.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 12 years of professional experience; or
  • 10 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • 18+ years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
  • 5+ years as a ServiceNow Solutions Architect.
  • 5+ years leading ServiceNow development teams.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Certifications (Must hold the following certifications):

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • At least 2 ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications, showcasing deep expertise in multiple ServiceNow areas such as ITSM, ITOM (HAM and SAM), Discovery, Service Mapping, CSM, SPM, or APM
  • Team members are also expected to uphold and maintain appropriate certifications for their practice expertise

ServiceNow Expertise:

  • At least 5+ years of experience with technical discussions and reviews.
  • 5+ years of experience with developing ServiceNow solutions across various platform applications, such as ITSM, ITOM (HAM and SAM), ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, HR
  • 5+ years of Industry experience (e.g. Financial Services, Healthcare, High Tech, Manufacturing, Retail, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience across numerous parts of the ServiceNow platform and experience with commonly integrated third-party technologies
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience driving change/solutions.
  • Experience with commonly integrated third-party technologies
  • Excellent understanding of system architecture, design principles, and impacts
  • Experience supporting IT-related data integrity (CMDB, HAM, SAM, etc.)

Advanced Development Skills:

  • Experience with Web development, including technologies such as X-HTML, CSS3, SQL, XML, Angular, JavaScript, PHP, .NET, or Java.
  • Experience with implementing Java scripting to support automation across the various modules in ServiceNow.
  • Experience with REST and SOAP web service protocols.
  • Experience with Business Rules, Workflow, Identification Rules, Workspaces, and External Portals.
  • Knowledge of SAML, Active Directory, or LDAP.
  • Specialized ServiceNow Developer Certifications, including ITSM, HAM, SAM, ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, TRM/APM, or HR.
  • Project Management or Agile certification.
  • ITILv4 Foundations Certification.

Methodology:

�         Experience with Agile methodologies and project management practices.

Client-Facing and Presentation Skills:

  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences, including senior leadership, government clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain complex technical solutions in clear, non-technical terms.

Other Qualifications:

  • Excellent technical leadership skills and initiative to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow work with the US Federal Government
