{"id":725,"date":"2021-02-16T09:14:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-16T09:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/automationgrp.com\/immis\/?p=725"},"modified":"2021-03-28T09:14:53","modified_gmt":"2021-03-28T09:14:53","slug":"uscis-reaches-fiscal-year-2021-h-1b-cap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/automationgrp.com\/immis\/uscis-reaches-fiscal-year-2021-h-1b-cap\/","title":{"rendered":"USCIS Reaches Fiscal Year 2021 H-1B Cap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>USCIS has received a sufficient number of petitions needed to reach the congressionally mandated 65,000 H-1B visa regular cap and the 20,000 H-1B visa U.S. advanced degree exemption, known as the master\u2019s cap, for fiscal year (FY) 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have completed sending non-selection notifications to registrants\u2019 online accounts. The status for registrations properly submitted for the FY 2021 H-1B numerical allocations, but that were not selected, will now show:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Not Selected<\/strong>: Not selected for this fiscal year.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We will continue to accept and process petitions that are otherwise exempt from the cap. Petitions filed for current H-1B workers who have been counted previously against the cap, and who still retain their cap number, are exempt from the FY 2021 H-1B cap. We will continue to accept and process petitions filed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Extend the amount of time a current H-1B worker may remain in the United States;<\/li><li>Change the terms of employment for current H-1B workers;<\/li><li>Allow current H-1B workers to change employers; and<\/li><li>Allow current H-1B workers to work concurrently in a second H-1B position.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>U.S. businesses use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/working-in-the-united-states\/temporary-workers\/h-1b-specialty-occupations-dod-cooperative-research-and-development-project-workers-and-fashion\">H-1B program<\/a>&nbsp;to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations.
